Yes, always, and it is free with no obligation. A proper survey lets us assess your specific security requirements, identify the key areas needing coverage, plan cabling routes and specify the right equipment. We will not quote for a CCTV system without first visiting your site — systems specified from floor plans alone routinely have blind spots.

Q3. Do you install CCTV for farms and rural properties?

Yes — farm CCTV is one of our specialist areas. We install long-range outdoor cameras for farmyards, outbuildings, access gates and lambing and calving monitoring. For remote locations without mains power, we can install solar-powered camera systems. Cable runs to farm buildings are included in our installation service.

Q4. What is the difference between CCTV and access control?

CCTV records and monitors your site visually. Access control manages who can enter specific areas — using cards, fobs or mobile credentials to control doors, gates and barriers. The two systems are complementary and we integrate them where required: every door entry event can be automatically associated with the relevant camera footage for a complete security picture.

Q5. How long is footage stored?

This depends on the number of cameras, the resolution and the storage capacity specified during the site survey. Standard installations typically store 30 days of motion-triggered footage. We size the storage correctly at the survey stage — many cheap CCTV installs use undersized hard drives that overwrite footage within a week. We document the retention period at handover.

Q6. Do you offer CCTV maintenance contracts?

Yes. Annual maintenance contracts cover camera health checks, firmware updates, storage verification, lens cleaning and a call-out visit. A CCTV system that is not maintained will degrade silently — cameras fail, hard drives fill, firmware goes unpatched. We recommend a maintenance contract for any system covering a commercial or public-facing site

Q7. Will I be able to view my cameras remotely?

There are various government-backed broadband improvement schemes available in Wales and parts of England, including Gigabit vouchers and rural connectivity grants through BDUK and the Welsh Government. Our team can advise on which schemes apply to your property and assist with the application process.
